Farming

One of DAC's greatest advantages is the extensive network of over 200 organic farmers with whom we currently work. DAC's primary supply of organic products comes directly from its farm projects across 10 states in India: Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Mizoram. Having such a broad and diverse supply chain ensures that DAC always provides its customers with the best quality products.

In all of its projects, DAC promotes organic agriculture through training and certification. We encourage the concept of 'zero-cost' farming by providing seeds to farmers and training them to use various bio-manures, bio-pesticides and composting methods. This platform relieves the farmers of the upfront cost of seeds and other inputs and also ensures a high-quality, certified organic product.

A unique aspect of DAC's work model is its focus on the economic development of the farmers with whom we work. By providing continuing education in organic farming methods and promoting sustainable technologies, we make a marked difference in the lives of Indian farmers. For example, techniques such as own farm input production by utilizing locally available herbs for fertility and pest management, promoting the farming of low water consumption crops and technique such as drip irrigation and rainwater harvesting, have allowed some of our farmers to harvest twice as many crops annually - a shift that has significantly improved the economic viability of these farms and the well-being of these farm families.

We look forward to expanding our projects throughout India to bring even more farmers into the organic ecosystem while bringing the best possible quality and variety of Indian agriculture to its customers.

Ethical Focus & Policy

DAC only works with the most ethically-centered producers and suppliers, adding to the chain of operators against unfair trade and environmental devastation.
We have state-of-the-art facilities, and conform to the highest regulations for effluent management and energy handling. Our facilities include wind turbines which produce the majority of power used, and a 4x effect water filtering system to refine their effluent and optimize handling.

All materials are chosen for green credentials; whether it be organically farmed cotton to prevent soil damage, hand-made khadi to eliminate the environmental impact of machine production, or peace silk to better the life of the Bombyxmori moth.

DAC adopts environmentally responsive practices such as bio-plastic packaging and organic material sourcing. We will continue to network and develop relations with like-minded operators in order to develop new strategies to advance international recognition & awareness of the people working to balance systems of exchange and consumption.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

Industrial establishments are seen as the bane of Earth's natural resources. Whether by choice of material & process to enhance life-cycle prospects, or through legacy investment to maintain diverse and healthy ecosystems; we believe in replacing what we use and hence reducing our carbon footprint.

WIND ENERGY: (ENERGY EFFICIENCY)

Our manufacturers are among the leading producers in India conforming to the highest regulations for effluent management and energy handling. Facilities include wind turbines which meet the majority of power demand of the manufacturing process. Our suppliers have installed 5 windmills with a total of 3.75 MW capacity taking care of the entire power requirements of our factories. These 5 machines are the latest models from Neg-Micon of Denmark. By generating this green power, we are saving gallons of fuel and many metric tons of coal for the nation, with equivalent avoidance of harmful carbon emission into the biosphere.

POLLUTION CONTROL: (WASTE MANAGEMENT & WATER EFFICIENCY)

Our manufacturers employ a 4x effect water filtering system to refine their effluent and optimize handling and hence are very effective in water waste management and reduction of water pollution. With emphasis on eco-friendliness, we have a modern Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Zero Discharge Waste Water Recovery Plant (ZDWWRP) and Reverse Osmosis Technology (ROT) that ensures no harm to the environment. We recycle water and maintain the perfect combination of dyestuffs so as to conform with Oeko-Tex Standards.

Progressive Sustainable Practice

Continuing to network and develop relations with like-minded operators is essential in developing strategies to advance recognition and awareness of sustainable processes; we work to boost correspondence with producers, suppliers, and the workers who harvest & maintain crops. In developing relationships with suppliers, we develop a way to achieve great results, using effective and ethical processes.
